Stories of Transformation

Every year the Jesus House welcomes 300 men and women into our 10-12- month recovery program, completely transforming their lives. We aim to address every aspect of suffering provide housing, food, job training, and counseling services to all who seek it.

Here are their truly inspirational stories.

My name is Betty, and I am 41 years old.

I have been sober for 5 months and I am thankful to Jesus House for helping me strengthen my relationship with Christ. I no longer fear death because now I know that God has a plan for me to prosper and not harm me and to give me hope and a future.

One thing I want you to know about me is that I have a really big heart that is full of love.

My name is Anne Marie, and I am 42 years old.

I have been sober for 8 months thanks to God and Jesus House. My addiction caused me to lose myself and the trust of those I love. I have been to rehab 13 times but Jesus House has helped me find the missing link which is a connection to God. I feel blessed to work for an organization that allows me to serve my community. Jesus House has given me a new outlook on life.

One thing I want you to know about me is that I love helping others and I am blessed to be able to do it every day

My Name is Mark.

I have been sober for 14 months. Before Jesus House, I did not care about myself or anything except getting high. I could not get sober on my own so I came to Jesus House for help. Thanks to Jesus House, I have a job I love and I am moving into my own apartment. I am excited to live my life for God and his Glory.

One good thing about me is that I never give up.

My name is Robert and I am 61 years old.

I have been sober for 4 months. My addiction led to homelessness. Thanks to Jesus House I have a stronger connection with Christ and I feel hopeful again. God is restoring me and I look forward to living a life of sobriety and helping others do the same.

9th Annual Be the Light Awards Luncheon.

Jesus House is hosting its 9th Annual "Be the Light" Awards Luncheon on April 16, 2026 at the beautiful Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City. Registration will be open from 11:00–11:25 a.m., our inspiring program begins at 11:30 a.m., and we will wrap up by 1:00 p.m. We’re delighted to welcome Thomas Hill, CEO of KimRay, as our keynote speaker.

Our President and CEO, Dr. Christine North, recently joined KOCO 5 News to share how Jesus House is serving our community this Thanksgiving. She spoke about our Thanksgiving Dinner Basket Giveaway and the growing need for support this year as many families are affected by the government shutdown and food assistance challenges.

Dr. Christine North to Lead Jesus House Oklahoma City

Jesus House Oklahoma City announced today that Dr. Christine North, a respected public health educator and advocate, has been named President and CEO. Dr. North previously served as Program Director, where she strengthened program structure, expanded partnerships, and enhanced the evidence-based recovery model that defines Jesus House today.

Jesus House Celebrates Grand Opening of New Kitchen & Dining Facility

Since moving into the Orchard Park Elementary School building in 1982, the Jesus House staff, volunteers, and residents have prepared and provided over 4.5 million meals for people experiencing hunger, homelessness, and addiction. However, due to the growing demand for services and the need for new facilities to keep up with the demand, the Jesus House Board of Directors, CEO, architects, and contractors began praying and planning for a new 5,200 square foot kitchen and dining facility. New Fitness Center

Our new fitness center is now open! As one of the pillars of our Life Transformation Program, we recognize how necessary physical fitness is for someone on the path to recovery. So, we were thrilled to transition our previous kitchen & dining area into a modern fitness center, complete with cardio and weight training areas and a dedicated space for stretching and flexibility. Our residents are excited about this new space and the opportunity to be spiritually, mentally, and physically healthier!

Westmoore Community Church Donates $19,000 to Jesus House

Jesus House was blown away by the generosity of Westmoore Community Church (WCC) and their donation of $19,513. WCC has donated their Christmas Eve offering to Jesus House for over 20 years! We are so thankful for faithful supporters like WCC who believe in our mission, to feed the hungry and provide hope for those struggling with addiction.
